Wow that game was crazy, way too nerve-racking! Semaj had 19 points and 10 assists, Redford had 17 points, and Taylor had 11 points and 7 rebounds.
How about the Muskies on the glass? Overall, they won the rebuilding 26-21 and won on the offensive glass 12-5.
Christon was 7 for 9 from the line and hit the game winner with 5 seconds left.
The Muskies are 3-0 in the A10! WOOHOO! Next up, a home game at 2pm on Saturday vs LaSalle.

The Bonnies attempt twenty 3s a game and play a quick, guard-heavy offense. And while their road record is as hideous as their former mascot, Bona Fanatic, they are actually a good team at home. Their only 2 losses at home are to quality teams, Iona and VCU. Their weakness is their inside game and their lack of consistent defense. They have been out-rebounded by their opponents in 4 straight and while they are averaging 72 pts/game, they are also giving up a hefty 71 pts/game.
Dee Davis is expected to be a game-time decision again. If we have just 2 guards, Redford and Christon, against this high-energy team that likes to run and pressure, we could be in for a long night.
Let's go Muskies!!! Tip-off is at 8:00 on CBS Sports Network

Dee Davis' wrist is in bad shape so Xavier had just 2 guards for today's game vs GW but those guards played huge! Brad Redford scored 21 off of 7 for 8 shooting from 3! Semaj Christon scored 21 and had 7 assists. And Jeff Robinson got the start and had 14 pts and 6 rebounds. Add in Travis Taylor's 6 pts and 11 boards and the team played quite a game today.
Congrats Muskies, 2-0 to start the A10 season! Let's hope Davis can play next week.
Next up - Wed at 8pm on the road at St. Bonnie

Huge win for the Muskies last night! Everybody stepped up to beat a very good Temple team by 5 points. We were up 20-12 with about 8 minutes left in the 1st half and everything was looking great. Then Temple hit a 3 and during the play, Dee Davis fell awkwardly on his wrist. He left the game and the arena to get his arm examined at a local hospital. The Muskies gave up their lead and then fought back to build one again, only to give it up again. Semaj Christon was cramping up a bit and for a few stretches, Brad Redford was the only guard we had on the floor! Semaj eventually made it back in and made some big baskets. Dee Davis arrived with 90 seconds left in the game and played tough defense and grabbed the final rebound despite barely using his left arm.
As Joe Sunderman said after the game, every piece of the puzzle was needed to win this one. Semaj had 16 pts, Justin Martin had 10, and Travis Taylor had another double-double with 11 pts and 10 rebs. Landen Amos played 16 big minutes as the walk-on shut down Temple star Khalif Wyatt. Wyatt had just 5 pts on 2 for 11 shooting. Redford hit 3 3-pointers and drew 2 charges and Robinson scored 6 and had 7 boards.
The whole team played unbelievably great defense and owned the glass defensively. Temple looked overwhelmed by the defense; pretty impressive considering that they recently beat Syracuse and almost won at Kansas a few days again.
What a win for the Muskies! 1-0 to start the A-10! Let's hope Dee Davis is okay. The Muskies next conference game is tomorrow! GW comes to Cintas for a 4:00 tip-off on Saturday.
Go Muskies!

Instead of the usual basketball talk this time, I'd like to point you to a great story about the people of Frankenmuth, Michigan. They put their money together to purchase the Sandy Hook jersey that Frankenmuth native Brad Redford wore during a Xavier game last month. Xavier auctioned off all the jerseys to benefit the people of Newtown, Connecticut in the wake of the Dec 14th shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary.
