Just one thing here: Xavier Basketball

Several sources have just reported that 6'5" Shooting Guard Chris Thomas has committed to Xavier.  He's from Denver but has jumped around to several schools and will be playing in Junior College this fall to qualifty for Division I basketball.

Chris Mack and Rasheen Davis are responsible for reeling in this big-time scoring guard.  Incoming Freshman Semaj Christon will be the first 5-star recruit to start his Division I college career at Xavier this fall.  And Thomas will be the second!  Two five-star recruits in two years!  Go to this page and enjoy the view of "Xavier" next to the #5 man in country!

No one else in the top 10 has committed to a school thus far.  The only programs that have a commit in the top 25 of the 2013 class thus far are Xavier, UNC, and Kentucky...how about that?

According to Rivals.com, the other schools interested in Thomas included Arizona, Georgetown, Kansas, UNC, Memphis, and Kentucky.

Another reason to look forward to years to come at Xavier! Go Muskies!

Griffin McKenzie, who's played very limited minutes in his 2 years with Xavier, will be transferring.

We wish Griff all the best and hope he gets to play in an expanded role elsewhere.  This leaves the Muskies with an open scholarship for this coming fall.  One of 3 things could happen here:
1 - Mack gives the scholarship to a guy on the team who doesn't have one (namely Stenger, who transferred in from NKU last year)
2 - Mack could offer to a high school senior that would be eligible to play this fall.
3 - Mack could offer a player leaving a different college program (Division 1, JUCO, etc.).

Time will tell.  The staff has been out recruiting.  Of course, they are always looking at players for more than just the upcoming season so that does not mean that they are planning on adding to the 2012 class.

These ESPN brackets really give a hell of a lot of points for picking the national champ.  Everyone who picked UK finished in the top 7 spots. Now you just have to live with yourself for picking UK.

Well, Kendall Marshall's broken wrist really hurt those of us who picked UNC to win it all. It's a wide open race with only 3 games to go.

Looks like zoffa, hank2061, ruppreid, Matt_Corn, dineenkm1, sweetraylaurel1, and LaBryson1795 are fighting for the top couple spots down the stretch.
