Wow, that was too close for comfort. If you didn't see the end, GW had the ball, down 1 and missed 3 shots from point blank as the final seconds ticked off. XU 59, GW 58
It was an ugly win for sure, but a win is a win. Hopefully this gives the team some of the confidence and swagger they have lacked of late. Holloway really carried us last night, 21 pts, 7 ast, 6 reb. Frease had 10, Lyons 9, and Redford was 3 for 4 off the bench for 8 points. No one else had more than 4 points! We need a few guys to step it up. We gave up 10 three-pointers and we were a pathetic 10-20 from the line. Thankfully, GW's FT shooting was worse, going 4-9. Hey, I'll take the win!
On to another road game, at Memphis, 1:00 Saturday on Fox Sports.

Another road game for our Muskies tonight. GW is 3-4 in A-10 play, all 3 wins coming at home. But they have 0 quality wins this year.
Here's the reason XU has to win this one: GW is 0-9 against teams in the RPI top 100 and all 9 of those losses are by double-digits. We are more talented and average 10 more points per game than they do. Let's go get the win!
How about GW's mascot, Little George? He looks like George Washington got injected with steroids and hatred.

Well it wasn't pretty, but XU escaped Charlotte with a 4 point win. They led by 4 to 8 points for most of the game but could never pull away.
Thankfully though, the 49ers defense receded more than Coach Alan Major's hairline. The Muskies shot 49.2% in the win. Holloway, Wells, and Frease scored in double-digits and Redford hit three 3s for XU.
Next up - road game at GW on Wednesday night.

This is as close to a must-win game as possible if Xavier wants to stay in the A10 title race.
Overall, XU has an edge over Charlotte in just about all statistical categories, but the numbers go out the window in road games. The Muskies have to right the ship tonight.
By the way, is Norm the Niner look like a creepy old man eyeing his next victim or what?
Let's go Muskies!!!

Well, we won 4 in a row and now we've lost back-to-back games. Despite Lyons and Holloway almost getting 50 points between the two of them, we lost to St. Louis. It was a very depressing game to watch. We were down big after giving up several wide open 3s and then had to fight back the whole game. We tied it at 50 but couldn't pull out the win. Some discouraging notes about this loss...
- This marks the 3rd loss of the year at Cintas. In the 4 previous seasons, we had a total of 3 losses at Cintas.
- This also gives us 3 A-10 losses. We lost at total of 3 A-10 games over the last 2 years in regular season play.
- The lost ends our the best A10 conference home winning streak at 43 games. It was quite a streak; a shame to see it end.
Want more depressing news? No? Well, here it is. We are now behind 6 teams in the A-10 standings and 3 of the 6 hold tie-breakers over us because XU has lost to them. Of our final 9 A-10 games, 5 are on the road.
We have to shape up soon or we will have gone from hopes of a deep March run to hoping to just make the tourney.
Go Muskies!
